Tequila. orgullo mexicano.
Creator of joy… and pain. Tequila is a misunderstood drink, I mean, give me the first 2 things that come to your mind when I say “Tequila”…. QUICK!
Probably your choices were “Never Again” , “Oh man that night…”, and OK lets throw in the “Is that the one with the worm?” (and no, that is mezcal). Tequila I feel is an abused drink, only reserved to do shots for a “wild night”, but ironically can be as expensive and tasty as a great Scotch. The problem is that culturally, tequila has been a drink of the masses and that perception has been kept around. In many countries tequila is seen as a cheap and harsh drink, however, if you go to Mexico and order tequila you most likely will be chasing it with some Sangrita (spicy tomato concoction) and limes.
Don’t get me wrong, Mexicans love to shoot tequila but we also love to sit down, sip it and enjoy it. It seems like around the world if you say “lets drink tequila” its synonymous with “Lets pour that all around my face” and “All my clothes will be gone”, which are not bad things but lets be honest, your clothes will still be gone if you finish that Vodka bottle too…
